What Effects Blood Pressure?

Do you know that high blood pressure is riskier compared to a heart disease? There are several complications associated with this condition that you may not be aware of. In reality, hypertension or most commonly referred to as high blood pressure can subtly impair a person’s body before other symptoms can actually develop. If this condition is left beyond control, you may end up impaired and disabled, miserable and even experience a severe heart attack. Luckily, with proper treatment and change of lifestyle, you can prevent and control hypertension in order to minimize risks of serious complications.

What Effects Blood Pressure ?

Complications and Effects

• Arteries impairment. A normal artery is healthy, elastic, resilient and pliable. The inside lining

is relatively smooth which allows the blood to flow liberally and properly supply all the major

organs of the body with the necessary elements such as oxygen and other nutrients. Hence,

if you have hypertension, there is the possibility of an amplified pressure of blood that passes

through the arteries, wherefore causing various difficulties.

• Aneurysm. Generally, the continuous force of blood that is passing through an already

weakened artery causes a section of the wall to expand and eventually form a particular bulge.

This bulge is referred to as an aneurysm, which can actually rupture and may result in internal

bleeding that is of course very dangerous and can be life-threatening. An aneurysm can be

present in any artery of the body but ordinarily, it can be found in the aorta which is considered

as the largest artery in the body.

• Coronary artery disease. Since an uncontrolled high blood pressure is damaging, there is a

tendency that the heart can develop this type of disease. This is an effect when blood cannot

pass smoothly in the arteries, therefore, it cannot supply blood generously to the heart. When

this happens, there is an increased risk for a heart attack, chest pains and even irregular heart

beats.

• Enlargement of the left heart. Hypertension pushes the heart to work more than it should,

pumping blood to supply the needed requirements of the body. This can eventually cause

the left ventricle to harden and restricts the capability to properly pump the necessary blood.

Chances are, there is an increased possibility of a heart attach or failure and cardiac arrest which

can result in death.

• Heart Failure. Since high blood pressure can weaken the muscle of the heart, therefore the

heart cannot work efficiently. Naturally, the heart will gradually wear out and fail to function

properly. Thus this can result in a heart failure or attack.

• Possible damage to the brain. Just like any other vital organs of the body, the brain needs the

adequate supply of blood in order to function properly. But high blood pressure can also

damage it and can cause serious health problem such as a mild or severe stroke. It can be a

ministroke at first that comes from a blood clot which is a result of a brief interruption of the

blood supply to the brain. And it can also be a signal that a full blown stroke is coming your way.

These are only some of the effects that can trigger in case you experienced an uncontrolled high blood

pressure. It pays, therefore, to be wary every time of your blood pressure especially when you notice the

symptoms or something unusual in your body.
